November 2007                                                                                                                    Camerata Florissimo: a new stringplayers ensemble

Young stringplayers, prizewinners of national an international competitions, are united in a new strinplayersensemble: Camerata Florissimo. The new ensemble intends to play without director under the artistic leadership of the young violinist Birthe Blom.

Enthusiasm and interaction are the base of this young chamermusic ensemble

Chamber Music on special historical locations that are extremely suitable for concerts in an intimate atmosphere :it is a new phenomenon in the 650 years old town of Hoorn.

Every concert will be framed by a little snack and a drink to give the concertaudience  a cosy and warm feeling.

The  violinist Birthe Blom, born in Hoorn,  is the face of the new Chamer Music Festival Hoorn.She invited young (mostly Dutch) musicians to bring a broad supply of chambermusic on the highest level.

22-08-2008                                                                                                                                      Mozarteum Salzburg

For over 90 years gifted young musicians from over the world come to the Summeracademy Mozarteum in Salzburg to attend masterclasses with renown teachers.This year there were during 6 weeks 884 participants from 50 countries.

 By  the director of the Summeracademy, Mr. Alexander Müllenbach, there has been made a selection of the 8 best students to play during the prizewinnersconcert in the Big Hall of the Mozarteum.

Selcted from 164 violinists Birthe Blom has been chosen as only violinist to take part in the prizewinnersconcert.

Besides she received a prize of the city of Salzburg.

Further concerts with the Orchestra of the Low Countries
After her successful appearances in the Netherlands and Belgium with the Orchestra of the Low Countries conducted by Walter Proost, Birthe has been re-invited for several concerts next season.

With the oboist Pauline Oostenrijk she will perform J.S.Bach’s Double Concerto for oboe and violin at various concert venues, and with the pianist Bas Verheijden she will also play Mendelssohn’s Double Concerto for violin and piano.

Birthe receives ‘Diplôme de Soliste avec Félicitations’
Birthe has passed the Lausanne Conservatoire’s Diplôme de Soliste ‘avec félicitations et les plus hauts résultats’ (the highest achievable marks). She has been given her certificate at the Lausanne Conservatoire on 29th June (Palmarès).
